Barton Bishoff.

“I worked closely with Bart as a reporter at WIFR in Rockford, Illinois. He was one of those few skilled photographers with a keen, artistic eye, whom everyone would vie to work with for the day, and especially on special projects. Bart stood out for the care he took in selecting the shot to tell the story and then move it forward, on a level of interpretation that not everyone would have captured. In this way, even the more bland projects were improved by the simple beauty and harmony of the video. Subtlety that speaks volumes. Bart has that rare talent for capturing beauty. He feels the shot, and senses the nuances. Knows when a small change in angle or light or movement will make all the difference.”

After stints at WTVO (ABC) Rockford, Ill, WDJT (CBS) Milwaukee, WI, KLAS(CBS) Las Vegas, NV, Barton worked at KNTV (NBC) in San Francisco. At KNTV Barton produced special feature stories and served as Creative Director for Tech Now! a syndicated news magazine show about Silicon Valley that airs in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.

Murrow award for Best News Documentary for "Close To Home", a documentary about how the 911 tragedy affected San Francisco families.

Barton's musical experience started early. His father, John Bishoff, has been performing, composing, and recording music since 1964. Barton's earliest musical education began as his father started teaching him how to play the various instruments that were within easy grasp at the Bishoff home. Barton began studying classical piano when he was 11 and eventually earned a B.S. in Music from the University of Colorado at Denver's Media Arts Program. Barton has performed and recorded with such artists as Miles Nielsen, Harlan Jefferson and the Funk Attack, The Snaggs, Kelly Steward, Erik Applegate, Mark Applegate, The Famous, The Blues Police, The Moonlight Jazz Orchestra, The Gomows, and Bun E. Carlos and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.

Barton comes from a family of photographers. His grandfather Carl Bishoff began shooting black and white film in 1928. Carl and his wife Elsie traveled the world visiting Australia, The USSR, Beruit, Egypt, South America, Africa, Europe, Japan, Alaska, and many other exotic locations. The elder Bishoffs saw to it that Barton see almost every state and National Park in the U.S. by the time he was 10. On these trips Barton developed an appreciation of natural beauty and history. Barton's father John and cousin Nathan Rank are also accomplished photographers and influenced Barton's visual approach to storytelling.

Barton has been working for Yahoo! Inc. since 2005. Working in public relations as a video producer for the internet search giant has been Barton's most recent challenge. At Yahoo! Barton has produced video shorts for the website that tell various aspects of the Yahoo! story and feature many of their most innovative products and services. Barton has worked closely with Yahoo!'s founders and executives to communicate the company's story to its employees as well. Using his contacts from broadcast news, Barton is instrumental in keeping journalists abreast of the latest news from Yahoo! and getting them the access and information they need to produce their stories.
